The four-semester Master's Program in Economics and Management offers eight different areas. Out of the eight areas, you choose one as your major area (at least 50 credit points) and one as your minor area (at least 20 credit points). In addition, you can choose modules as free electives from any of the eight areas, totalling up to 20 credit points. The Master's thesis (in your major or minor area) contributes 30 credits to the total of 120 credit points of your Master's degree.

Regulations for the selection of major and minor
Students must complete one major area (at least 50 credit points) and one minor area (at least 20 credit points). The choices of major and minor areas must be made no later than six weeks before the end of the lecture period of the student's first semester. The areas chosen are irrevocable. By written application, to be handed in no later than six weeks before the end of the lecture period of the student's second semester, students can swap their major and minor areas at most once.

Areas
Each of the eight areas combines compulsory modules and elective courses (either free or mandatory). Teaching styles in the electives range from lectures to tutorials to seminars. All courses and their required exams will, for every semester, be announced in the semester plan/course schedule.

How to find modules and courses
The course catalogue of the Leibniz University is available in the HIS-LSF portal, respectively in StudIP when searching for the courses. The WiWi-Semesterplaner includes all information of the module handbooks (learning goals, details regarding the areas of expertise etc.) as well as the updated course and examination information.
Exam Information and exam period
The registration for the exams of compulsory, required electives and elective modules within the areas takes place via the online-platform. The range of curricula of the areas is described in the links below. A late registration after the given deadline is not possible!

Rücktrittsfrist
Ab dem WS 2022-2023 gilt uniweit eine Rücktrittsfrist für Prüfungsleistungen, d.h. bei Klausuren, dass bis sieben Kalendertage vor Beginn der Prüfung eine Abmeldung von einer Klausur erfolgen kann. Die Abmeldung ist bei Klausuren gemäß § 15 Abs. 3 online im QIS vorzunehmen. Um sich ordnungsgemäß von Prüfungsleistungen abzumelden, können Sie bis zu sieben Kalendertage vor dem jeweiligen Prüfungsdatum die Abmeldung von einer Klausur online über die Studierendenfunktion „QIS“ unter dem Punkt „Mein Studium“ – „Prüfungsanmeldung/-abmeldung“ vornehmen. Wenn bis sieben Tage vor der Prüfung keine Abmeldung erfolgt ist, gilt die Anmeldung als verbindlich und ein Rücktritt ist nach Ablauf der Rücktrittsfrist nur noch bei Vorliegen triftiger Gründe (z.B. Krankheit mit Nachweis eines ärztlichen Attests) möglich. Das unentschuldigte Nichterscheinen am Klausurtag zählt nicht mehr als ein Rücktritt ohne Folge, sondern als Fehlversuch.

Ärztliches Attest (Prüfungsunfähigkeitsbescheinigung) mailen
Bei Krankheit am Klausurtag muss unverzüglich ein ärztliches Attest (Prüfungsunfähigkeitsbescheinigung) im Studiendekanat der WiWi-Fakultät eingereicht werden.
Das Einreichen erfolgt – wenn möglich – per E-Mail an die Mailadresse attest@wiwi.uni-hannover.de.
Als Absender der Mail ist Ihre studentische Mailadresse „~stud.uni-hannover.de“ zu verwenden.

Raumeinteilung und Hilfsmittel bei Klausuren
Raumeinteilung bzw. Sitzpläne bei Klausuren der Wirtschaftswissenschaftlichen Fakultät und ggf. zugelassene Hilfsmittel werden durch die Institute festgelegt.
Die Einteilung auf die Räume erfolgt erst nach Ablauf der Rücktrittsfrist.

Das Präsidium der Leibniz Universität Hannover hat im Rahmen der Systemakkreditierung dem Bachelorstudiengang Wirtschaftswissenschaft im internen Qualitätssicherungsverfahren des Programms "Leibniz Qualität in der Lehre" (LQL-Programm) das LQL-Siegel und damit das Siegel des Akkreditierungsrates verliehen.
