Lecture Series II in the Supra-Curricular Approaches to Information Science (SCAIS)

The LUIS IT Service offers a lecture series on information science, which comprises the fields of collection, documentation, classification, analysis, manipulation, storage, retrieval, movement, dissemination, and protection of information. The key to information science is a solid understanding of knowledge and its context for day-to-day application

The goal of this lecture series is an advanced understanding of general information science, knowledge, and its context. This lecture series (SCAIS) discusses selected fields in the universe of information science and aims to convey key qualifications and skills significant for scientific work, research, and management in theory and practice.

The lecture covers, in compressed form, selected fundaments, advanced topics, and skills.

Focus topics, qualifications, and practical skills conveyed by this lecture are (excerpt):

  • Information science systemic and selected approaches
  • Practical fundaments of knowledge (factual, conceptual, procedural, and metacognitive).
  • Information science architectures and back-dependencies in sciences.
  • Conception of structures and architectures for information science practice.
  • Consolidation, bibliography tutorial, and colloquium section
